About the name of my magazine – AHB-MAG. “AHB” are simply the initials of someone I cared for. “MAG” is short for magazine. “AHB-MAG” is a re-brand from my original photo magazine title which was going to be called “Driving Nature Magazine”. Being prior military (ex-army), I like the way these letters look in that format. It reminds me of military lettering, and will fit great for the magazine cover design I have planned.
AHB-MAG IS COMING IN 2018
Originally title “Driving Nature Magazine”, I wasn’t really sure if I was happy with that name or not. It totally fit my photography style for sure, but it is kind of a long name, and I hate long names for projects. There was a situation with the person who’s initials are involved with my magazine title re-brand that left me very hurt, angry, and feeling deceived, but one thing he said to me was that he didn’t think my feelings were real. This re-branding is my way of saying that my feelings were real for him. The gesture to use his initials are not an attempt to “hold on” to him forever in any obsessive way. Just a part of my heart putting it out there that he’s missing out on something really great with my magazine project and he could have been a part of its success with me.
What my magazine is about: My sole purpose for this self published magazine project is to provide a look book, or coffee table book style photo magazine for the gay (and straight) community featuring my photography of traffic, nature, and the lakes around my home town in Alabama, and Georgia. I want it to most especially be a treasure of photos for people who aren’t able to get out and enjoy nature and getting around as much as I do from day to day, and to bring a taste of the south U.S. landscape to nature lovers.
Please follow this website to stay up to date on my magazine project progress. I have a ton of editing to do, but I will be sharing sneak peek photos from time to time until I have the first issue put together. Thanks for visiting. Come back soon. Continue reading
